Managing the group, singing baritone, and playing the keyboard, Dennis is the only remaining member of the original group formed in 1995.
Dennis was born in Monahans, TX on June 1st. and currently resides in Fort Worth, Texas. When not singing with KingsRiver, he leads worship at Castleberry Baptist Church in White Settlement, TX.
Dennis was saved at the age of 14 after having attended church from birth. As he lay in bed one night he realized that, without the Lord, he could spend an eternity in Hell, and cried out for the Lord to save him.
Dennis’ love for music comes from a family who loved to sing and play – his dad on the guitar, aunts who played piano, grandfather who loved to sing, and several cousins who play piano. Dennis learned to play rhythm guitar from his dad and a MelBay song book. He began playing the piano shortly after he was saved with no formal lessons until he took a year in college at Odessa College.
Part of his vision comes from having heard groups that infrequently came through the church he attended. Wanting to hear more of this type of ministry, he began to realize that the “good” groups could not always afford to sing in the smaller churches. Dennis’ desire through KingsRiver is to be able to take a good Southern Gospel group and minister in any church that calls them.
There is no doubt that Dennis feels that he is called to sing and share the gospel at each opportunity the Lord provides.
